Defence postings

Furniture hire for ADF postings to Williamtown, built to PACMAN from the start.

Most hire companies don't know what your furniture allowance covers. We do. Every defence package we quote is built to the ADF Pay and Conditions Manual, so what you see on the quote is what your allowance pays for.

What PACMAN covers, and what it doesn't

Under PACMAN 7.8.25 and the related furniture rental provisions, the allowance covers the furniture and white goods a household needs to live: beds and bedding furniture, lounges, dining tables and chairs, fridges, washing machines and storage. It does not cover TVs, computers or gaming consoles.

We build every ADF package inside those lines. Nothing on the list that shouldn't be there, and nothing that gets knocked back when the claim goes in. If you want items outside the allowance, we price them separately so the paperwork stays simple.

Within 25 km of the base, usually within 48 hours

Most defence setups we do land within 25 kilometres of RAAF Base Williamtown: Medowie, Raymond Terrace, Fern Bay, Stockton, the Newcastle suburbs and out toward Nelson Bay. Our base is in Warabrook, so a Williamtown delivery is a short run, and most setups are done within 48 hours of confirmation.

Posting dates move. Tell us as soon as you know and we move the delivery date with you at no charge.

Paperwork that suits a posting

Defence hires are set up on account terms with the first payment invoiced before delivery, and many members prefer weekly billing to line up with pay. The hire runs for as long as the posting does and extends by the week if the dates stretch. When you are posted out, we collect everything and the account closes.

Common questions

The questions we get asked here.

Do you understand ADF housing allowances?

We do. We build every defence package to PACMAN, so what we quote sits inside what your allowance covers. Beds, fridges, dining and laundry are in. TVs, computers and gaming consoles aren't.

How does payment work?

Payment's always in advance, and we set the rhythm to suit you. The standard is a monthly account; ADF personnel often prefer weekly. Businesses are usually invoiced (easy for a Pty Ltd), and personal hires run on direct debit or a card subscription. We sort the details on your quote.

Do you need a deposit?

Business, ADF, government and insurance accounts are set up on terms, with the first payment invoiced before delivery. For personal hire we ask for the first payment plus a refundable bond, usually equal to one payment period — a week or a month, depending on how you're billed. The exact figure depends on the hire, and it's always set out on your quote.

What if my dates change?

Tell us as soon as you know. With reasonable notice we'll move the delivery date for free. Once it's in the home, you can extend or shorten the term with a phone call, and we'll adjust the billing accordingly.
